- שִׁלְיָא, שִׁי׳II f. (שָׁלָה II, שָׁלֵו; cmp. Zeph. 1:12; Jer. 48:11) sediment, dregs. Tosef.B. Bath.V, 7 של יין משתיעשה ש׳ (Var. משעשה) the merchants wine measures must be cleaned as soon as sediment is formed (which diminishes their capacity).
